Alan Ashby Baseball player
Alan Dean Ashby (born July 8, 1951) is an American former professional baseball player and current radio and television sports commentator. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros between 1973 and 1989. He was the catcher for two Astros teams that won division pennants. After retiring as a player, Ashby was a manager in the Texas-Louisiana League and he has held several jobs in broadcasting.
