Alfred Siegling Military person

Alfred Siegling (15 March 1918 – 6 September 1984) was a Untersturmführer (Second Lieutenant), in the Waffen SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. This award recognizes extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.Alfred Siegling was born on 15 March 1918 at Erlau. He volunteered to join the SS and was posted to the 2nd SS Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion, Das Reich Division. He was awarded the Knights Cross in December 1943. Siegling survived the war and died in West Germany in September 1984.
