Álvaro Domínguez Soto (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈalβaɾo ðoˈmiŋɡeθ ˈsoto]; born 16 May 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for German club Borussia Mönchengladbach. Mainly a central defender, he can also play as a left back.He began his career at Atlético Madrid, making his first-team debut in 2008 and going on to appear in 120 competitive games and win three major titles, including two Europa League trophies. In 2012, he transferred to Mönchengladbach.Domínguez played for Spain at the 2012 Olympics.
