The first version of this article has been based in the text of el:Ανδρέας Μιχαλόπουλος (ποδοσφαιριστής) of the Greek Wikipedia published under GFDL.Andreas Michalopoulos (Greek: Ανδρέας Μιχαλόπουλος) (born 23 January 1949), is a former Greek footballer (striker) born in Patras. One of the most gifted strikers of his generation, he was a member of the great Panachaiki football team that impressed Greece in the seventies and qualified for the 1974 UEFA Cup.Michalopoulos' potential was undoubtedly great. He was, however, as talented as unlucky. Before the UEFA Cup 1973-74 game against GAK, an injury seemed to put an early end to his career when it was at its best. The young striker managed to help his team some more years, but he only played 48 games in five seasons until 1979, when he officially retired. After the end of his professional career, Michalopoulos remained in Panachaiki as a valuable member of its organisation. He has coached the senior team in the late 90's as well as at the beginning of the 1996-97 season. Finally, he has also been the coach of the Greek junior national team.
