Andy Burnham Politician
Andrew Murray Burnham (born 7 January 1970) is a British Labour Party politician and the Member of Parliament for Leigh since 2001. He is Shadow Secretary of State for Health.Burnham continuously held various Cabinet posts under the Premiership of Gordon Brown between 2007 to 2010, first as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, then Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and Secretary of State for Health. He was a candidate in the 2010 Labour leadership election, coming fourth out of the five candidates with 8.68% of the vote.
