Ann Mortifee Musical artist

Ann Mortifee, CM (born 30 November 1947) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, writer and speaker. Morifee was born in Zululand, South Africa. After emigrating to Canada in childhood, she spent her youth in Vancouver, British Columbia. At the beginning of her musical career, she joined the cast of the original Vancouver production of The Ecstasy of Rita Joe. In 1984, she guest-starred on the popular children's TV program Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show (Season 1: Episode 4 - "Friendship"). On the episode she sang "Just One Voice" with Sharon, Lois & Bram.Mortifee currently lives on Cortes Island, British Columbia. She was married to jazz flautist Paul Horn until his death in 2014. Her younger sister, Jane Mortifee, is also an accomplished artist who has on occasion performed on Mortfiee's albums.
