Barry Cowen Politician
Barry Cowen is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He was elected as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Laois–Offaly constituency at the 2011 general election.He is married with three children and is an auctioneer and valuer. He is the brother of former Taoiseach Brian Cowen. His father Bernard Cowen was also a TD.Before his election to Dáil Éireann, he was a member of Offaly County Council for the Tullamore electoral area from 1991.He was the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Social Protection from April 2011 to July 2012. In July 2012, he was appointed as party spokesperson on Environment and Local Government.
