Benzion Netanyahu
Benzion Netanyahu (Hebrew: בֶּנְצִיּוֹן נְתַנְיָהוּ, IPA: [ˈbentsijon netanˈjahu]; March 25, 1910 – April 30, 2012) was an Israeli scholar of Judaic history, activist in the Revisionist Zionism movement, who lobbied in the United States for the creation of the Jewish state. His field of expertise was the history of the Jews in Spain and he served an editor of the Hebrew Encyclopedia and was a professor at Cornell University. He spent a significant portion of his life in the United States, and became Ze'ev Jabotinsky’s personal secretary, but never got involved in Israeli politics. Netanyahu's son is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
