Bryan Desmond Hughes Rugby player

Bryan Desmond Hughes MC (c. 1887 – 6 August 1918) was an Australian soldier and international rugby union player.Hughes, a flanker, was born in Sydney, New South Wales and claimed a total of 2 international rugby caps for Australia.Placed into action during World War I as a second Lieutenant with the 8th Battalion, 48th Brigade of the 16th (Irish) Division, Hughes was killed on 6 August 1918, and is buried at the British Cemetery in Borre, Nord, France (Grave II. G. 2).His brother James was also an Australian rugby union representative player.
