Carl McCall Politician

Herman Carl McCall (born October 17, 1935) is a former Comptroller of the US state of New York and was the Democratic candidate for state governor in 2002. He is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, and currently serves on the board of directors of several corporations. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and was also educated at the University of Edinburgh, received a Master's of Divinity Degree from Andover Newton Theological School. He was the first African-American to be elected comptroller of New York.
