Carlos Alvarado Lang Artist

Carlos Alvarado Lang (January 14, 1905 – September 3, 1961) was a Mexican printmaker.Alvarado Lang studied printmaking under Emiliano Valadéz at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (ENBA) in Mexico City. In 1929 he followed Emiliano Valadéz on his chair. After the course offer of the ENBA was expanded in 1930, he got the chair of engraving. From 1942 to 1949 he was director of the ENBA.Posthumously his works were exhibited at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda", in the Museo de Arte Moderno, the museum of the Palacio de Bellas Artes and in further notable institutions.When he was only 14 he began his studies in the National School of Fine Arts (Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Nacional autónoma de México).His masterpieces has been around the world including: Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, California XYLON- International Society of Wood Engravers, Kunsthaus Zürich, Switzerland National Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico City XYLON, at the Moderna Galerija Ljubljana, Yugoslavia Museum of Modern Art, New York Philadelphia Museum of Art Art Institute of Chicago National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Japan V International Exhibition Black and White, Lugano, Switzerland Bordeaux, Paris, Lille, Lyon and Toulouse, France Mitsukoshi, Nihonbashi, Japan House of culture, Guayas, Ecuador National Institute of Fine Arts, St. George's Gallery Prints, London, England↑
