She appeared in 1976 as the clever-witted girl-guides scoutmaster in the Sanford & Son episode when Fred and Lamont were lost in the woods while camping. Arthur was born Carol Arata in Hackensack, New Jersey, the daughter of Mildred (née Foehl) and Peter Arata, a police officer. She is the widow of Dom DeLuise, and the mother of actors Peter DeLuise, Michael DeLuise and David DeLuise.
