Cathy McMorris Rodgers Politician

Cathy Anne McMorris Rodgers (born May 22, 1969) is an American politician and since 2005 has been the U.S. Representative for Washington's 5th congressional district, which includes Spokane and the eastern third of the state.She is a member of the Republican Party. From 1994 until 2005, she served in the Washington House of Representatives, rising to become the minority leader. Currently, McMorris Rodgers is the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress, serving as the Chair of the House Republican Conference. She is only the second woman to serve in that capacity, following former Congresswoman Deborah Pryce, who served from 2003-2007.
