Colin McCahon Artist
Colin John McCahon (1 August 1919, Timaru – 27 May 1987, Auckland) was a prominent artist in New Zealand. Along with Toss Woollaston and Rita Angus, he is credited for introducing modernism to New Zealand art in the early twentieth century. He is also regarded by some people as New Zealand's greatest painter.
