Walker contributed cello to ELO 2, the single Showdown, named by John Lennon as one of his favourite singles, and half of On the Third Day, but left the band in 1973 to get married. After his departure from ELO, he reverted to teaching and played cello on the track "Fool's Gold", a track on the album "Thought Talk" by Starry Eyed and Laughing (Haines, Guttenbacher, and Petersdorff 2000).He is now playing cello in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, central London.
