Connie Mack III Senator

Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy III (born October 29, 1940), popularly known as Connie Mack, is a former Republican (GOP) politician. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Florida (1983-89) and then as a Senator (1989-2001). He served as chairman of the Senate Republican Conference (1997–2001). He was considered as the Vice-Presidential nominee on the GOP ticket by Bob Dole in 1996 and George W. Bush in 2000, although Jack Kemp and Dick Cheney, respectively, were chosen instead.
