Darío Escobar (born 1971, Guatemala City) is a Guatemalan conceptual artist.Dario Escobar was born in Guatemala City in 1971. He graduated from Rafael Landívar University and studied visual arts at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas "Rafael Rodríguez Padilla'>Rafael Rodríguez Padilla" in Guatemala City.His work is characterized by the investigation of formal and conceptual aspects of objects and their function in visual arts.His untitled gold leafed McDonald's cup from 1999 exemplifies his art.
