David Koloane Artist
The artist David Nthubu Koloane was born on 5 June 1938 in the township of Alexandra, a suburb of Johannesburg in South Africa. In his drawings, paintings and collages he explores actual questions about political injustice and human rights. Koloane is considered "an influential artist and writer of the apartheid years" in South Africa.
