Dietrich von Müller Military person
Dietrich von Müller (16 September 1891 – 3 January 1961) was a German Officer during both World War I and World War II. Just before the end of World War II he was promoted to Generalleutnant and awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves and Swords was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.On 19 April 1945 he was captured by members of 1st Czechoslovak Partisan Brigade of Jan Žižka, Group Olga, and became a prisoner of war. He later spent 10 years in Soviet captivity. He was released in the winter of 1955.
