Dillianne van den Boogaard Athlete

Dillianne van den Boogaard is a former Dutch field hockey defender, who played 174 international matches for The Netherlands, in which she scored 68 goals. Van den Boogaard made her debut for the women's team on October 3, 1994 in a friendly match in and against Germany. She was famous for her penalty corners. She played her last match for the Dutch national team in the summer of 2002 against Australia. Afterwards Dutch coach Marc Lammers claimed she became to slow for the modern game, and he removed her from the team. Van den Boogaard played club hockey for Geel Zwart, HC Den Bosch and Amsterdam.
