Dixie Howell Baseball player
Homer Elliott Howell (April 24, 1920 in Louisville, Kentucky – October 5, 1990) was a catcher in Major League Baseball. He played from 1947 to 1956 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Dodgers.
