Doug DeVore Baseball player

Douglas Rinehart DeVore (born December 14, 1977 in Columbus, Ohio) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. DeVore played in 50 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2004 season. DeVore had 24 hits in 107 at-bats, with three home runs, and a .224 batting average.He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 35th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign. He was again drafted in the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft in the 12th round by the Diamondbacks, and signed. In 2005, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants for Matt Herges, but did not get called up that season, and was granted free agency. In 2006, DeVore followed the likes of Rickey Henderson, and Jose Canseco to play for the independent Newark Bears of the Atlantic League. In 27 games, he batted .229 with 4 home runs and 11 RBI.
