Earnie Shavers Martial artist
Earnie Shavers (born August 31, 1945) is an American former professional boxer. Shavers is considered by many to be the hardest puncher in boxing history. He fought in a golden era of heavyweight boxing, facing some of the greatest champions of all time such as Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes. Shavers lacked a solid chin and stamina, which accounted for his most of his losses. His greatest ring victories were his devastating first round knockouts over former world champions Jimmy Ellis and Ken Norton. During the latter part of his career, he scored a TKO in the second round over top contender Joe Bugner. Shavers released an autobiography about his life and his fights, called Welcome to the Big Time in 2002. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States.
