Erik Sommer Artist

Erik Sommer (born Minnesota, February 25, 1978) is a contemporary artist living in New York City. Best known for his work with unorthodox material, his work is about the passing of time, chance, and beauty, and is often compared to abandoned buildings, eroding stone or forgotten structures. His paintings often feature material peeling off the supports, and are recognized for both their subtle aggression and delicate strength. Sommer is represented by Rooster Gallery in New York.
