Fred Longstaff Rugby player

Fred Longstaff (birth registered July→September 1890 — died 22 July 1916 (aged 25–26)) birth registered in Bradford district, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1910s, playing at representative level played for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Halifax and Huddersfield, as a Second-row, i.e. number 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums. He was a member of Huddersfield's 1914/15 'Team of All Talents' by winning All Four Cups available to them, and died on 22 July 1916, fighting at the Battle of the Somme.
