G. M. Syed Philosopher

G. M. Syed (Sindhi: سائين جي ايم سيد) (January 17, 1904 – April 25, 1995) – 'Ghulam Murtaza Syed or G. M. Syed' was a political leader who founded the nationalist movement Jeay Sindh for the freedom of Sindh from Pakistan. He is regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern Sindhi nationalism. In 1931 he founded the Sindh Hari Committee, later led by Hyder Bux Jatoi.He was revered by the people of Sindh as "Saeen" (سائين), a son of Syed Mohammed Shah Kazmi, descendant of a famous saint of Sindh Syed Haider Shah Kazmi; of whose mausoleum he was the Sajjada Nashin. Syed was a nationalist Sindhi who had plans to secede Sindh from Pakistan. He always had a nationalist vision with a thinking of being an anti-Establishment of Pakistan. He became vocal after the fall of Dhaka in 1971, thereafter (he) was banished and imprisoned as a traitor, by the state of Pakistan.Syed was a controversial figure in the Pakistani political history. He struggled for decades for the political rights of indigenous Sindhis that lasted for 74 years. Syed was declared 'threatening to the integrity of Pakistan' by state of Pakistan, due to his Apart from his various miscalculations.
