Georg Neuffer Military person

Georg Neuffer (18 April 1895 – 11 May 1977) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Georg Neuffer was captured by British troops in May 1943 following the surrender of German troops in North Africa. He was held until October 1947.
