Gerald McCarthy Writer

Gerald McCarthy (born 1947) is a poet, best known for his spare, powerful meditations on his experiences as a marine in Vietnam. He is the recipient of awards from the National Writers Union and the New York State Council on the Arts, and has twice been a visiting artist at The American Academy in Rome. McCarthy is a professor of English at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York.
