Gerry McNamara College coach

Gerry McNamara (born August 28, 1983) is a former American basketball player and current assistant coach of the Syracuse University men's basketball team. He is a former guard for the Orange, from 2002 to 2006, where he helped lead the team to a title in 2003. After leaving Syracuse, McNamara played professionally for Panionios BC, Olympiacos BC, the Bakersfield Jam, BK Ventspils and the Reno Bighorns. In 2009, McNamara announced his retirement from basketball and returned to Syracuse as a graduate student and assistant coach.
