Gita Wirjawan Politician

Gita Irawan Wirjawan (born September 21, 1965) is an Indonesian businessman and former banker. He was Minister of Trade of Indonesia for almost three years, serving from 2011 until 2014. He resigned from the post in January 2014 to focus on his campaign for Democratic Party Presidential Nomination in its convention which he lost and the convention's winner went nowhere in Indonesian presidential election, 2014 In 2008, he founded the company Ancora Capital (tempo), a private equity fund whose primary investments focus on natural resources and mining. Prior to founding Ancora Capital, Gita was an investment banker at JP Morgan Indonesia where he headed the Investment Bank from 2004 to 2008.
