Günter Zöller Figure skater

Günter Zöller is a German figure skater and figure skating coach. Zöller was a child when he began figure skating. His coach was Jutta Müller. He skated for the club SC Karl-Marx-Stadt and represented East Germany. In 1967 he won the East German nationals over Reinhard Mirmseker, the then-president of the Deutsche Eislauf-Union (German national figure skating organisation). In 1970 he won bronze medals at the Europeans and the Worlds. Afterwards he was injured. In 1972 he left East Germany and moved to West Germany. There he became a successful coach in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg. Among his students were the skaters Claudia Leistner and Rudi Cerne. He is still a coach in Mannheim.
