Henry "Harry" Gifford (1884 — 1952 (aged 67) born in Kirkby-in-Furness, Lancashire, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s, '10s and '20s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, England, and Lancashire, and at club level for Ulverston Hornets ARLFC[1], and Barrow, as a Fullback (182-appearances), Wing (65-appearances), Centre (54-appearances), or Stand-off/Five-eighth/Scrum-half/Halfback (25-appearances), i.e. number 1, 2 or 5, 3 or 4, 6, or 7, and latterly in the Forwards (non-specific forward 21-appearances), e.g. Prop (25-appearances), Hooker (6-appearances), Second-row (6-appearances), or Loose forward/Lock (39-appearances), in the era of contested scrums, his death was registered in Ulverston district.
