Heinrich Sonne Military person

Heinrich Sonne (23 February 1917 – 3 December 2011) was a highly decorated Hauptsturmführer in the Waffen-SS during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Sonne was born in Riga, Latvia to German parents.
