Herman Tjeenk Willink Politician

Herman Diederik Tjeenk Willink (born 23 January 1942) is a retired Dutch politician of the Labour Party (PvdA). He was the Vice President of the Council of State from July 1, 1997 until February 1, 2012.He previously served as a Member of the Senate from June 23, 1987 and became the President of the Senate on June 11, 1991. He resigned both positions on March 11, 1997 when he became the Vice President of the Council of State taking office on July 1, 1997, and therefore the most important advisor to Queen Beatrix during that time.
