Hishammuddin Hussein Politician
Datuk Seri Panglima Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein (born 5 August 1961) is a Malaysian politician. He is Malaysia's Minister of Defence, a position he has held since 16 May 2013. He has previously been the acting Minister of Transport (2013–2014), Minister of Home Affairs (2009–2013), Ministry of Education (Malaysia) (2004–2009) and Minister of Youth and Sport (1999–2004). As acting Transport Minister he came to international prominence in March 2014, as the minister responsible for investigating the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.Hishamuddin is a senior figure within the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), Malaysia's largest political party and the leading member of the Barisan Nasional coalition that governs the country. He is one of the party's three vice-presidents and was the chief of the party's youth wing from 1998 to 2009.He is the son of Malaysia's third prime minister, Hussein Onn, and the cousin of the sixth and current prime minister, Najib Razak.
