Homer Hazel College coach
Homer "Pop" Hazel (June 2, 1895 – February 3, 1968) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player, track athlete, coach, and college athletics administrator in the United States. He played college football at Rutgers University in 1916 and again from 1923 to 1924. Hazel served as the head football coach at the University of Mississippi from 1925 to 1929, compiling a record of 21–22–3. He was also the head basketball coach at Mississippi from 1925 to 1930, tallying a mark of 54–32. Hazel was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1951.
