James Daniel Gardner Military person

James Daniel Gardner, also spelled as Gardiner (September 16, 1839 – September 29, 1905), was a Union Army soldier during the American Civil War and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Chaffin's Farm.
