Jim Brakefield College coach
Jim Brakefield (c. 1919–2002) was the fifteenth head football coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers located in the town of Boone in Watauga County, North Carolina from 1971–79. Brakefield also coached the Wofford Terriers located in Spartanburg, South Carolina from 1967–70.
