Johann Benedikt Military person

Johann Benedikt (17 September 1918 – 22 October 1943) was a highly decorated Obergefreiter in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Johann Benedikt was list as missing in action as of 22 October 1943. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 11 December 1943.
