John Podesta Politician
John David Podesta (born January 8, 1949) is the current Counselor to the President of the United States, serving since the start of 2014. He was the fourth and final White House Chief of Staff under President Bill Clinton, from 1998 until 2001. He is the former president and now Chair and Counselor of the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank in Washington, D.C., and is also a Visiting Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center. Podesta was also a co-chairman of the Obama-Biden Transition Project.On January 13, 2015, Podesta announced that he would leave the White House in February 2015 to serve as a Senior Advisor for the presumptive 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.
