John Smith Politician

John Smith QC MP (13 September 1938 – 12 May 1994) was a British Labour Party politician who served as Leader of the Labour Party from July 1992 until his death from a heart attack in May 1994. He first entered Parliament in 1970 and was the Secretary of State for Trade from 1978 to 1979 and then the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer under Neil Kinnock from 1987 to 1992.
