Jonathan Arias Tenorio (born April 18, 1986 in Toluca, Mexico) is a Mexican football central defender. He plays his club football for Club Toluca of the Primera División de México.Arias started his career by coming up the Toluca youth team ranks until finally catching the eye of then Toluca boss Americo Gallego. Gallego was impressed by Arias' leaping ability and fast reaction time that he described Arias as someone who in the future could be called the "Mexican Cannavaro", making reference to Italy's World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro.Arias made his debut with the Toluca senior squad on August 20, 2006 in a 3-0 home victory over the now relegated Gallos Blancos de Querétaro FC. He made his professional debut that day as a starter and played the full 90 minutes of the match. After impressing Americo Gellego so much that game with his good decision making and composure, he started 9 out of the next 15 league games. After the exiting of Gallego, Arias has few appearances with the major team.
