José António Rondão Almeida ComIH (born in Elvas) is a Portuguese politician.He is mayor of Elvas since 4 January 1995, reelected in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2009.He will step down after 2013 local election, since the new electoral law makes him unable to seek reelection.Some important structures in Elvas are named after him.
