Jovan Karamata Scientist

Jovan Karamata (Serbian Cyrillic: Јован Карамата; 1902–1967) was one of the greatest Serbian mathematicians of the 20th century. He is remembered for contributions to analysis, in particular, the Tauberian theory and the theory of slowly varying functions. Karamata was one of the founders of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1946.
