Karl Willig Military person

Karl Willig (31 August 1908 – 2 December 1977) was a highly decorated Major in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Willig was captured at Stalingrad in 1943 and was released in 1949.
