Kel Tremain Rugby player

Kelvin Robin "Kel" Tremain (21 February 1938 – 2 May 1992) is a former rugby union player from New Zealand.He played as flanker for Hawke's Bay and the All Blacks, for which he won 38 full caps between 1959 and 1968, scoring a total of 27 points.During the 1960s he had a status in New Zealand rugby comparable to that of his teammate Colin Meads.He was born in Auckland on 21 February 1938, and died in Napier on 2 May 1992 aged only 54 after a short illness. His death shocked many people. The Kelvin Tremain Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to New Zealand's player of the year.Chris Tremain, the Member of Parliament for Napier, is his son.
