Korbinian Viechter Military person

Korbinian Viechter (27 November 1914 – 12 February 2006) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant der Reserve in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Korbinian Viechter was captured in April 1945 by Soviet troops and was held until 1950.
