Lewis Armistead Military person

Lewis Addison Armistead (February 18, 1817 – July 5, 1863) was a Confederate brigadier general in the American Civil War. At the Battle of Gettysburg, he took part in Pickett's Charge, where he led his brigade further than any other, to a spot commemorated as the High Water Mark of the Confederacy. But they were overwhelmed by a Union counterattack, where he was wounded and captured, dying soon afterwards.
