Madison G. Gonterman College coach
Madison Gillham Gonterman (February 8, 1871 – September 30, 1941) was an American football player, coach, college athletics administrator, and lawyer. He served as the head football coach at Indiana University for two seasons, from 1896 to 1897, compiling a record of 11–5–1. Replacing Edgar Syrett, Gonterman was also Indiana University's second athletic director from 1897 to 1898. He was succeeded by James H. Horne in 1898. Gonterman later acted as counsel in Massachusetts for the United States Railroad Administration.
