Manuel Bonilla President

General Manuel Bonilla Chirinos (7 June 1849 – 21 March 1913) was President of Honduras from 13 April 1903 to 25 February 1907, and again from 1 February 1912 to 21 March 1913. He previously served as Vice President of Honduras from 1895 to 1899.He was born in Juticalpa, Olancho, Honduras. He started out as a liberal, and then became a conservative, and he is considered the founder of the ideas that led to the creation of the National Party of Honduras. He was involved in various military actions as a young man. As president he gave generous concessions to the banana companies along the north coast, namely to Sam Zemurray's Cuyamel Fruit Company.
